NEW: Gema OptiFlex® ProX Manual System with OptiSelect® ProX Gun
The OptiFlex ProX is Gema’s newest generation of manual powder coating units. It pairs the new OptiSelect ProX manual gun with the OptiStar ProX touchscreen control and Gema’s new TargetSpray technology, which automatically adjusts coating parameters in real time as the gun approaches recesses, inside corners and other complex geometry – then returns to your preset settings once the difficult area is coated. Gema’s tagline sums it up: “Performance Powers Quality.”
What is Gema TargetSpray?
TargetSpray is an intelligent assist function built into the OptiSelect ProX gun and OptiStar ProX control. It detects when the gun is approaching complex part geometry and changes the coating parameters automatically – no programming and no interruption to the operator. The result is more even coverage in recesses, undercuts and junctions, less orange peel, less overspray, lower powder consumption and shorter coating times.

Gema Powder Coating FAQs
What is the difference between the OptiFlex ProX and the OptiSelect ProX?
OptiSelect ProX is the manual powder coating gun. OptiFlex ProX is the complete manual unit – the OptiSelect ProX gun plus the OptiStar ProX control, powder feed (injector or OptiSpray pump) and cart, hopper, box-feed or table-top configuration.
What does TargetSpray do?
TargetSpray automatically detects when the gun approaches complex geometry, adjusts coating parameters in real time, and returns to preset settings once the area is coated. It improves coverage in recesses and corners while reducing orange peel, overspray and powder use.
Can the OptiFlex ProX spray all powder types?
Yes. Gema designed the ProX series to process all powder types. For powders that tend to separate or fluidize poorly, the OptiFlex ProX S with its stirred hopper is recommended.
How fast is color change on the OptiFlex ProX?
With the optional PowerClean Dock, box-feed units can change color in about 35 seconds. The table-top OptiFlex ProX CF changes color in about 20 seconds.
What is the difference between injector and OptiSpray units?
Injector units (OptiFlow ProX) use venturi powder transport and offer up to about 450 g/min. OptiSpray “Spray” units use the AP02 dense-phase pump for very stable output over long runs – up to 300 g/min per pump, or 600 g/min with two pumps.
Can my existing Gema automatic line be upgraded?
Often, yes. BF Sales can review your current OptiGun, OptiStar and booth equipment and recommend upgrades such as OptiSpray dense-phase pumps, OptiStar 4.0 controls or MagicControl system integration.
